Headaches.

Tension that wraps around your head, pain that starts at the base of your skull, headaches that show up every afternoon at your desk. Many recurring headaches start in the neck, and those are the ones we can usually help.

Where recurring headaches often start

  • Tight muscles and stiff joints at the top of the neck
  • Forward head posture from screens and driving
  • Clenching your jaw, often without noticing
  • Poor sleep and stress
  • Skipped meals and not enough water

How we find the cause

We look at how your head and neck are carrying load: a digital posture analysis, a nerve scan, and x-rays in our office when your exam calls for them. Your doctor will also ask about sleep, stress and triggers, because headaches rarely have just one cause.

How we treat it

  • Gentle adjustments to the upper neck and upper back.
  • Soft-tissue work at the base of the skull and across the shoulders.
  • Posture and screen-setup changes you can make this week.
  • Help with sleep, hydration and nutrition through our functional health program when they're part of the picture.

What helps right now

  • Drink a full glass of water and step away from the screen.
  • Heat on the back of the neck for 15 minutes.
  • Keep a simple log of when headaches start. It helps us find the pattern.

Common questions

Can chiropractic help migraines?

Some people with migraines have fewer or milder episodes when neck tension is part of the picture. We’ll tell you honestly after your exam, and we work alongside your physician, not instead of them.

Do I need a scan of my head?

Usually not for us. If anything in your exam suggests you need medical imaging, we’ll refer you.

How soon will I notice a difference?

Many people notice fewer headaches within a few weeks. Your doctor will give you a plan and re-measure as you go.
