Plantar fasciitis.
A sharp, stabbing pain in your heel with the first steps out of bed, easing as you walk, then back after you’ve been sitting. It’s one of the most common causes of heel pain, and one of the things SoftWave helps most.
Book a first visitWhat sets it off
- Tight calves and Achilles
- Foot mechanics, like flat feet or high arches
- A jump in running, walking or time on your feet
- Worn-out or unsupportive shoes
- Weight gain, including during pregnancy
How we find the cause
We look at your feet, ankles, knees and hips, and how they line up when you stand and walk, so we treat what’s loading the heel, not just the heel.
How we treat it
- SoftWave to improve blood flow and repair in the plantar fascia. Usually six to eight sessions.
- Adjustments for the foot and ankle so the arch moves well.
- Soft-tissue work for the calf and the bottom of the foot.
- Simple daily stretches and strength work you do at home.
What helps right now
- Roll the arch over a frozen water bottle for a few minutes.
- Stretch your calves, especially before your first steps in the morning.
- Avoid going barefoot on hard floors for now.
Common questions
How long until it’s better?
Many people feel a difference within the first couple of SoftWave sessions. Most plans run six to eight.
Do I need orthotics?
Not always. We’ll look at your feet and tell you whether supportive shoes, inserts or custom orthotics would help. If you need custom orthotics, we offer them here.
Can I keep running?
Often, with less volume for a few weeks. We’ll help you plan it.
